Ahh! Matching pillows at last!

Well, it's definitely been a while. I guess I have just been so busy with work and family, my own personal blog has been in hiatus. It is no problem for me to snap some photos, do some fancy wording and a quick blurb about a new fabric collection. At home is indeed another story. I just don't have a system down when it comes to working for myself.

Blah Blah Blah.

Anywho, on to the fun stuff.

I recently brought home two delicious pieces of fabric I had my heart set on for a little while. I swooped up some Sea of Tears Mint by Tula Pink and some Beige Dimple Minky. I planned to make two matching pillow covers for my over sized throws for my bed.

Now I made these pillows two years ago (one completed well before the other because, well, you know) and only had one completed pillow cover. Originally I had used some Anna Maria Horner Velveteen, but didn't grab enough fabric. Over the course of the past year, I used some other random fabric that kind of went with my theme of bedroom colors (purple, green and black...in a creepy Addams Family kind of way).

Basically my pillow covers didn't match, and they certainly didn't particularly match my room. It was just never quite right and it always bugged the hell out of me.

So...

Some night last week around 11 pm, I realized I was not quite ready for sleep. As Tyson snored on besides me, I decided I had some sewing to do.

I of course couldn't do it without Pugsley, the orphan kitty. He actually made my process take a much longer then necessary amount of time. He just demanded so much cuddles!

I mean really, he tried to help me thread the machine... I got it Puggy, this isn't my first rodeo!

I commenced my mission and thought, despite all of the sewing projects I NEED to get done, I could at least cut out the pieces.... Roughly 2 hours later, I had two gorgeous zippered pillow covers.

Here is a close up of the fabric...

And now, here are the pillows in all their glory on my bed. Yay!

Not the best picture, but you get the idea. I should have snapped a picture of the old ones so that you could see...

Thanks lovers,
Cheers!
Arleen
